How to enter shipping costsMis à jour le : 03 septembre 2020
You can choose between various methods to calculate shipping costs in your online store. Go to ‘Shipping options’ in your admin panel to view all the possibilities.
Shipping costs are calculated based on the total weight of all the products in the shopping cart. You can also enter a fictitious weight, as it will not be visible to your customers anyway.
You can choose from the following options:
- Do not calculate any shipping costs. If you choose this option, no shipping costs will be calculated.
- No regular shipping methods. If you choose this option, no shipping costs will be calculated. The shipping methods are also not visible in the checkout.
- Equal shipping costs for all countries according to the table rate. If you choose this option, you can charge the same shipping costs for all countries based on a rates overview table.
- Shipping costs by country according to the table rate. You can enter several countries, each with their own rates overview table. In this case, the shipping costs will differ for each country.
How to enter your shipping costs
You can create a table per country listing your shipping costs based on a (fictitious) weight. In doing so, enter your shipping costs for each weight category (e.g. from 0 kg to 1 kg, from 1 kg to 5 kg etc.). Then enter the right weight for every product, to ensure it is assigned the correct shipping cost. Want to shop specific items for free? Create a first line that calculates shipping costs of € 0.00.
Example of a table rate:
Now the shopping cart will automatically calculate the total weight of every order and add the matching shipping costs.
Do not forget to close the table with an ‘unlimited weight’ by entering ‘0’ as the last weight in the table. This prevents orders with a very high weight from not being charged any shipping costs.
On another note, don’t forget to enter the amount from which no shipping costs are charged. You can do this above the shipping cost table. In order words, from which amount upwards is an order sent free of charge?
Under ‘VAT and pricing display’ you can enter a VAT percentage for your shipping costs.
